Even though Caddo Lake State Park is dominated by the water recreation available on Caddo Lake, there are hiking and nature trails available to visitors. The park has 1 1/2 miles of hiking trails, together with a 3/4 mile nature trail.

Along the trails hikers can enjoy stately cypress trees, American lotus, and lily pads, waterfowl, alligators, turtles, frogs, snakes, raccoons, minks, nutrias, beavers, squirrels, armadillos, and white-tailed deer.

Directions: From Karnack, TX, Travel north one mile on State Highway 43, then transfer to FM 2198. Go east for 1/2 mile to Park Road 2. The park is 15 miles northeast of Marshall.

Distance: 3/4 miles

Difficulty: Easy/Moderate
