The Emporium Center for the Arts is both a museum and the artistic center of Knoxville. ((courtesy, Knoxville Tourism and Sports Corporation))

The Emporium Center for Arts & Culture is Knoxville's finest art museum and the center of arts in the city, home to two galleries, studios for individual arts, and meeting space for the arts community. The center was built in 1898 as the headquarters for a furniture company and later became a textile factory before reopening in 2004 as the arts space it is today. The 28,000-square-foot facility's galleries, the Emporium Center Gallery and the Balcony Gallery, showcase a variety of works, from painting to sculpture. The Balcony Gallery, in particular, features works of upcoming artists. See the website for exhibitions and hours.
