  • Located at Volunteer Landing, Three Rivers Rambler is an excursion train with an eleven-mile, 90-minute route that takes passengers along the Tennessee River, past historical sites, and on to the Three Rivers Trestle where the French Broad and Holston rivers meet to form the Tennessee River.
  • The Rambler typically runs May to August, but also has special departures, including the fall Pumpkin Express and the Christmas Express, which includes storytelling, holiday treats, and a visit from Santa himself. Both of the specials usually sell out, so book early.
  • Arrive 30 minutes before scheduled departure. No reservations are required for summer trains, but they can sell out. For last-minute rides your best bet is the 5 p.m. departure because it's usually less crowded than the 2 p.m. train. Ages two and younger are free; ages three to 12 get a discount.
