For 2.5 miles the trail follows a ridge top west from the Zaca Peak Road. The west end of the trail drops down to the privately-owned Zaca Lake Resort. Directions: From Los Olivos, Travel on Forest Road 7N07 northeast for about twelve miles turn left (north) onto Zaca Ridge Road (FS 8N02) and drive about 3 1/2 miles and turn left onto FS 8N02A and travel about a mile to the trailhead.
