• One of the most popular spots in Sequoia National Park is Moro Rock, located two miles from the Giant Forest Museum. A steep granite staircase climbs 380 steps to the top of this granite dome, where visitors are treated to a spectacular view of the Great Western Divide. The 6,725-foot dome also provides a view to the west over the Kaweah River Valley, making this a fine spot for sunsets.
• Moro Rock is also popular with rock climbers, who ignore the man-made stair steps and head for the dome's west face instead, which offers 1,000 vertical feet of cracks and knobs.
