A friendly, laid back lunch and brunch den, WD Deli is a gay-owned and LGBT-popular address in San Antonio's Monte Vista gayborhood. The pleasant and spacious establishment occupies the ground floor of a 1920s home and fills to the brim at lunchtime with locals digging in to an inventive selection of soups, salads, and sandwiches. Try the tortilla soup or the spinach chicken salad. They also do a brisk trade in box lunches, if you fancy a picnic in the sun. Owned and run by Wayne and Michael, the deli is very much a fixture in the gay community, and their twice-yearly drag brunches are legendary.
