Las Vegas has come a long way from its first legalized gaming establishment, Northern Club, in 1931. This downtown casino and others like it pumped $69,000 into the state coffers during their first two years of operation. Today, gaming revenue in Clark County alone totals more than $10.9 billion per year. While slot machines are the runaway favorite, the increased exposure and popularity of poker—specifically Texas hold 'em—has prompted casinos to reopen poker rooms that had been shuttered for years. Many casinos even offer complimentary gaming lessons. The Golden Nugget, for example, offers free daily lessons on a variety of table games, including craps, three-card poker, pai gow poker, Texas hold 'em, roulette, and blackjack. And as if the resorts and casinos weren't seductive enough, Vegas has put a sexy new spin on gaming. The latest trend is intimate themed casinos within a casino. The Pussycat Dolls Casino at Caesars Palace features a mix of sexy slot machines, blackjack, craps and roulette tables, a Big Six wheel, and—of course—a merchandise area featuring the brand's burlesque looks. Another sexy spot is the Playboy Club, which sits atop the Fantasy Tower of The Palms and has Playboy Bunnies at the helm of high-limit table games.
