Las Vegas' gay scene for years was deemed dead on arrival, but with the advent of Krave and Freezone, it's now finally pumping like other U.S. cities its size. Where a lot of LGBT venues in Vegas are populated mainly by locals, tourists also migrate to the 24-hour Freezone, a posh yet friendly bar/club with black leather and leopard booths behind bead curtains, sexy wall art of shirtless guys, video gaming machines built into the bar, live DJs, gorgeous bartenders, dance poles, karaoke, pool tables, and arcade games. Events include a daily happy hour, a Friday martini social, and a drag show called Queens of Las Vegas. A nice cross section of Vegas LGBT life—including a dedicated lesbian following (especially on Tuesdays)—rounds out the modern, hip vibe. Freezone is located in the Fruit Loop within crawling distance of Vegas' other gay bars and clubs.
