The dishes might resemble countless others in the historic district—gumbo, fried green tomatoes, and crawfish pie are all accounted for—but EAT erases all greasy-spoon associations. Don't miss the perfectly seasoned red beans and rice, served in an ample portion with grilled shrimp, chicken, salmon, or Portobello mushrooms. Despite its hipness, EAT is moderately priced, making for a far more satisfying stop than some of the city's high-profile nosh spots.
