Big Cat Rescue is an animal sanctuary devoted to housing exotic cats that have been abused, abandoned, retired from performing acts, or saved from slaughter for their fur. The sanctuary houses the most diverse population of exotic cats in the world, with 14 of 35 species of wild cats represented among more than 100 residents. These include tigers, lions, leopards, cougars, bobcats, lynx, ocelots, servals, and caracals, many of which are threatened, endangered, or now extinct in the wild. Big Cat Rescue offers a number of tours, including the Big Cat Keeper Tour, which shows visitors the inner workings of the sanctuary. Visitors learn the history of each of the exotic species protected at the sanctuary, as well as how each cat came to call Big Cat Rescue home. The guided tour of the 45-acre preserve takes approximately 90 minutes and is $100 per person. Guests must be 10 years or older, and reservations are required.
