Encompassing more than 340 acres, Overton Park was designed by landscape architect George Kessler in the early 1900s and built in 1906. The park's versatile grounds feature a zoo, art museum, old-growth arboretum, and war memorial. But it's claim to fame was a visit by Elvis Presley, who performed in the open-air Shell Theatre at his very first paid concert. Families have access to a playground, picnic area, hiking and biking trails, and tennis courts.
