Soul Invictus, a vibrant multi-discipline collective of queer artists ranging from actors to writers to special effects artists, is revitalizing the city's art scene and taking it by storm. The gallery at the front of the venue features edgy shows. Eclectic performances, including music to theater shows, hit the stage each weekend in the re-imagined Annex art space. The gallery and cabaret space has been voted the "best place to catch a queer performance." Sketch comedy often tops the bill. Check it out as part of the dynamic First Friday Art Walk, an upbeat volunteer-run event in over 100 galleries and art spaces that's been running since 1994.
