The always-packed Bourbon Street is a cool, multi-roomed, gay-popular hopping nightclub/bar in University Heights. Its New Orleans exterior gives way to the original horseshoe bar accented by stained-glass windows. The more modern "Stable Bar" in the back features a chic stainless-steel interior with wooden beams and a cruisy patio with a stone fountain surrounded by verandas and Old World flair. There are foam parties and karaoke nights, or better yet, head to Bourbon Street's adjoining outdoor Hawaiian-themed space, the Lei Lounge, the newest addition to San Diego gay nightlife.
