Silver Strand State Beach is a popular spot for camping, swimming, surfing, boating, water-skiing, fishing, and picnicking. There are 130 campsites and fire rings for cookouts.

  • There are several parking lots, restrooms, and unheated showers on both sides of the beach.
  • Check out the natural preserve on the bay side, south of the developed area.
  • The beach is named for the silver shells found on its shores.
Located about four miles from Coronado Village, Silver Strand State Beach is really two beaches in one. Part of it lies on the Pacific, and part of it frames the calm waters of San Diego Bay. Pedestrian tunnels under the road connect the two halves.
