On any given day, you'll find the enormous homes that border Ocean Boulevard completely empty. That's because locals know the best way to experience Coronado is outdoors—on the bike trails, skate paths, and sandy swaths that hug the coastline. Some of Coronado's glorious beaches are edged with tidepools; others with fire rings and dog-friendly shores. Lifeguards are typically on duty during the day, but when the sun sets, everyone heads to the shops, restaurants, and bars at Ferry Landing Marketplace.
