BeachExpert Tips & Helpful Hints
- A 3.5-mile crescent of sand, Stinson is known for its consistent surf, testing surfers' and boogie boarders' skills. Stinson also lures swimmers, sunbathers, and hikers. Dipsea, Matt Davis, and Steep Ravine trails will bring you to the beach from the Pantoll Ranger Station in Mount Tamalpais State Park.
- According to some surfing afficianados, Stinson is good for shortboards, funshapes, and longboards. When surfers get hungry, they head to Surfers Grill, the only restaurant on the beach.
- Sharks like Stinson Beach, too, and there have been some attacks here. The beach is usually closed for several days after a confirmed sighting.
