• You can get to some of San Francisco Bay's most popular places without a car. Blue & Gold Fleet has both ferry service and sightseeing cruises. Boats leave from the Pier 39 area, accessible from cable cars, BART, and MUNI.
• Take a ferry to Sausalito or Tiburon in Marin County; bring your bike and explore when you arrive. Both towns have waterside restaurants and walkways; the Bay Model is in Sausalito. At Angel Island State Park, another ferry stop, you can rent kayaks and mountain bikes from the park concessioner, take island tours, and camp.
• Two sightseeing cruises are especially notable: Escape From the Rock is a 90-minute tour of the Bay and waters around Alcatraz with expert narration and intriguing facts. The Bay Cruise can be combined with a visit to Aquarium of the Bay (you need a combo ticket).
