There are some very different sights on display immediately below the Museum of Anthropology. Vancouver's notorious nude beach stretches miles along the rocky Point Grey shoreline below the university. A few trails lead down through the trees to the water's edge. They vary in terrain but are all much more of a challenge to trek back up at the end of the day. If you've got more than you need with you, leave it in a locker at the museum. On sunny days you can buy a surprising selection of items (from limp sandwiches to far less legal supplies) from naked vendors on the main stretch of the beach, but make your way to the quieter south end. While all stretches of the beach are more popular with men, you'll know you've hit the gay beach when the women have disappeared.
