Lesbian chef and Iron Chef contender Tamara Murphy and co-owner Bryan Hill's sumptuous Mediterranean Rim restaurant is one of the top dining addresses in the city. The large, lofty Belltown room is cleverly decked out in rich reds and dark burgundy drapes, but manages to feel intimate, romantic, and welcoming, despite its dimensions. The wine list is impeccably chosen, and the menu stars regional fare, from Oregon rabbit to Whistling Train Roasted Pig, and Mediterranean cooking influences, such as the Portuguese live coals that gives Brasa its name. The lounge area attracts a good-looking set and is the site of a monthly Girl Happy Hour, hosted by Tamara and her partner.
