Boston's HarborWalk is a great way to experience the restored Boston Harbor on foot, bike or boat. ((courtesy, Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau))

Boston's HarborWalk runs from Chelsea Creek to the Neponset River through East Boston, Charlestown, North End, downtown, South Boston, and Dorchester. Designed to connect the public to a clean and restored Boston Harbor, it is being constructed in segments and is currently about 80 percent complete. Once completed, it will link to many established parkways and open-space networks, including the Emerald Necklace system, the Charles River Esplanade, and the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Boaters, take note: HarborWalk passes several community boating centers and public launch ramps, great starting points for exploring the harbor. Many paved stretches along the walkway are ideal for cyclists and joggers.
