It’s kind of like the gay Cheers–you know, the place you want to go because everyone knows your name. Fritz Gay Sports bar is very laid back, unpretentious, and yes, as friendly or more so than the famous “Cheers” bar in Back Bay that inspired the TV show. The management regularly supports gay sports events in the city as well as gay events in general. The sports bar is for gay and lesbian jocks, and the café adjacent offers the longest running weekend brunch in the gay South End—straights like it, too.
