Called the "home of American music," Nashville's legendary Opry House has hosted hundreds of country music icons. Crooning about love, friendship, and even "social graces," Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, and Garth Brooks have all graced the Opry's stage.

Throughout the Opry's 84-year history, the beloved program helped shape not only American country, but bluegrass, gospel, and even harmonies of comedy and song.

Grand Ole Opry House is one of four venues that make up the Opry Entertainment Complex. Since 1974, rising celebrities and country music icons have brought down the 4,400-seat Opry House. These days hot guests include Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, and Carrie Underwood. If you're lucky enough to snag tickets to a live show, you'll experience the rustic-chic Opry House and its barn stage set firsthand. To get a behind-the-scenes glance at the grand building, sign up for a backstage tour. Spotting a famous musician isn't likely, but you'll learn about the Opry's beginnings and discover what really goes when the curtain closes.
