From Olympic to Pico Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles, the Fashion District spans 90 blocks of retail heaven—accessories, cosmetics, fabrics, and shoes—all in the latest styles and trendiest colors of the season.

Because a good deal of manufacturing happens here, prices are low. But steer clear of "back alley" between Maple and Santee Streets, where less-than-reputable dealers peddle their wares. Yes, you'll get a good price, but the steep discounts don't cover up the obvious—that Gucci-bag wannabee is a fake.
