The Sanitam Rivers Loop is a 178 mile tour of the Willamette National Forest. The trip will take approximately 5 hours. The entire trip will be traveled on major highways through forest and farm land. Historical markers and stopping places and a variety of alternate routes highlight this trip. This is a lovely trip to observe fall colors.

Along the way there are opportunities to view several mountains , such as Mount Jefferson, and partake of several hikes. Campgrounds are situated throughout the loop.

Directions: From Salem, Travel on Hwy. #22 through the city of Detroit, up the North Santiam River to Hwy. #20 and down the Sweet Home, to Lebanon and I-5 back to Salem
