Camping is available at Gold Creek Shelter of nearby East Fork Campground. A foot bridge crosses Gold Creek near the shelter. Trail bikes, mountain bikes, and pack and saddle stock are permitted with need to ford at Gold Creek. The trail is heavily wooded with few viewpoints. Pickups can be made on Forest Service Rd 2860 opposite the Tubal Cain Trailhead. Pack and saddle stock, street legal trail bikes, and mountain bike users may want to make a long loop trip by traveling up the trail and returning on Forest Service Road 2860. Water is scarce. Boil all water before using.
Directions: From Sequim, Turn off of US Highway 101 onto Palo Alto about 2 miles south of Sequim. Palo Alto will become Forest Service Rd 28 once across the Forest boundary. Continue on to the intersection with FS 2860. Turn off and follow 2860 for 3 miles to the trailhead.
