The alternative Hawthorne neighborhood, in the southeast of the city, remains the area of choice for Portland's lesbians. Wide Hawthorne Boulevard is lined with stores, cafés, restaurants, and bars which draw a mixed crowd that always features several women-loving-women going about their business. Particularly lesbotastic spots include the Cup & Saucer Café, the funky Bagdad Pub and Theater, and Dingo's Taco Bar at 45th. The bulk of lesbian-frequented establishments run from Hawthorne at 20th Avenue to 40th. Other women-popular options, including the Egyptian Room bar and Haven coffee shop, are on nearby Division Street, an easy stroll from Hawthorne Boulevard. Streets all around are home to a high number of lesbians, with a diverse, multicultural crowd scattered among them.
