Attraction: Saturday Market

The Saturday Market is a Portland staple centered in the city's historic Old Town. Each weekend more than 250 artists, sculptors, and craftspeople fill the booths along West Burnside Street. There's no shortage of fantastic food, from Greek pitas stuffed with lamb and veggies to standard festival fare—kettle corn, ice cream, and pizza by the slice. Saturday's crowds are dense, but one visit to the market explains the draw—live music and loads of vendors hauling armfuls of handmade clothing, candles, jewelry, and more.
