The area closest to Philadelphia, Blue Mountain has lifted its "No Snowboarding" policy, thereby putting itself back into eastern PA's knuckle-dragging mainstream. At 1,082 feet, the slopes also offer the region's largest vertical drop and some serious skiing ambiance. The main lodge has recently been expanded, as has the parking area. Skiers and boarders will be pleased at the new high-speed detachable six-person lift. A half-pipe and two terrain parks will keep hucksters happy. The resort's 30 runs are spread throughout 110 acres.
