The first national park in the United States is the Yellowstone National Park, established in 1872.

Yellowstone was the first National Park. Yosemite was protected earlier by Lincoln. Off the top of my head don't remember dates etc. If you look at Yellowstones' history you can get all the details.

I recommend getting a National Park "passport" that you can get stamped at each National Park that you visit.
