I have spent a lot of time in Oxford and have stayed in both of these hotels. You can't go wrong with either. Location is the main difference. The Downtown Oxford Inn is just a block off the Square, which is the main hub of restaurants, shops, and bars. You can also walk into the campus from here, but it is a longer walk.

The Inn at Ole Miss is on the campus, and is right off the Grove, the central tail-gating spot on football weekends. When it's not a football weekend, the Grove is a park-like spot that's perfect for walking in or a picnic. You can walk to the Square from here, but it is a longer walk.

The main thing, no matter which you decide on, is to book early. Both of these hotels are surely already filled for football weekends and other special events. But it's worth giving them a call to get on a wait list. Or, if you're going on an "off" weekend, then you're sure to get a room and enjoy a fabulous weekend in charming Oxford.

Go Rebels!
