Where to go to play in snow? I want to take my children to the smoky mountains, just to play in snow! We live down south and we don't get any snow. We don't want to ski, just enjoy the cold and snow. Any ideas?

Honestly, you're not likely to find much snow at the lower elevations of the Smokies. If there is snow in the area for any significant length of time, you may have to delve quite high and deep into the park, maybe not ideal for a trip with younger kids? Even though you're not skiers, you should check out some of the area ski resorts, like Hawksnest (http://www.skihawk.com/default.php), Beech Mountain (http://www.skibeech.com), or Cataloochee (http://www.cataloochee.com), which all have tubing parks. Better yet, you're guaranteed to find snow at any of these places as they have snowmaking equipment to ensure they can stay open throughout the season. Last thing: if it's truly fun in the snow you're after, you may also want to look west to the Colorado Rockies or resorts around Salt Lake City, Utah, which offer better snow and a ton more winter sports beyond just skiing.
