Your best bet is probably Corpus Christi and the string of Gulf Coast beaches along Padre Island National Seashore. Long drive from you, though, as it's about 385 miles. Another thought if you're looking for a quick dip would be to check out a nearby state park like Lake Brownwood (70 miles), which has a small unsupervised swimming area.
