The best time to catch lobsters in Maine can vary, but summer and fall are considered lobster season. As the water warms in the spring, the lobsters move to shallow waters. This makes them easier to harvest but there is a molting process to consider. The new shell is considered sweeter to some tastes while others enjoy the packed meat of a late season shell. Maine's Department of Marine Resources keeps up to date information on when and where lobsters can be harvested at the following site: http://bit.ly/bUaJEH

I hope this helps!
