What will be the best way to get from the train station in Portland to the Mark Spencer Hotel. My wife and I will have our two granddaughters (age 7 & 10) with their roller bags in tow. Can we walk it or would it be better to take a cab? I can't tell if the street car passes nearby.

I dont know where your hotel is located, but there is a Max light rail station about 1-1/2 to 2 blocks south of the Amtrak station. We're headed to Portland in October, so doing the homework on how to get around without a car.

It's about a half-mile, or 15 blocks, so certainly doable. By the time you get over to the streetcar stop, it's probably just as easy hopping a cab if you don't fancy the walk. Also, price won't be all that different if you're buying four fares for the streetcar.
