What should we (2 women) absolutely see while in Seattle?
We'll be in Seattle for 2 days following an Alaskan cruise. We're 59 and 65, and we'd like to do things unique to Seattle.

Take a trip on a Washington State ferry! The view is spectacular and the price is very reasonable.
On Bainbridge Island you can take a tour with Kitsap Tours (they meet you at the ferry terminal).. Choose between a tour of the island, a tour of the beautiful Bloedel Reserve or a full day touring several unique little communties west of Seattle. www.KitsapTours.com

1. Pike's Place Market - This is definitely worth visiting. It will be crowded with tourists, but there are many good options for a bite to eat (check out Le Panier, Beecher's, and Piroshky's) and it is located right on Puget Sound and you can get a great view of the water. It is located in between Belltown and downtown which both offer shopping, art galleries, and restaurants. The Seattle Art Museum is also worth visiting, especially if you visit on a rainy day.
2. Kerry Park - Skip the ride to the top of the space needle and head to Kerry park. This small park offers one of the best views of the city for free! You will also be close to Queen Anne which is a great neighborhood to stroll through and has some shops and restaurants. You'll want to drive or take the bus as this is on top of a very steep hill.
3. Take a boat tour - There is one that take you out on Lake Union to see all of the floating homes, Mt Rainier, University of Washington, and the homes of rich and famous Seattlites.

I wouldn't skip the Space Needle! It's iconic! Completely enjoyed the trip around during a Sunday brunch. Yes, it's expensive (brunch is more reasonable than dinner), but worth it.
