What is there to do in New Orleans for bachelorette party?

I am looking for fun things to do in New Orleans for a bachelorette party in June of 2013? We would love to find some local eateries and bars. We are in our late 20's and early 30's, so we are not looking for the "club" environment, but want to experience the culture of New Orleans. Also my sister (the bachelorette) would like to stay somewhere "haunted" for fun for a night. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

I will let the locals weigh in with their favorite spots to party and hang out, but just wanted to share a couple of places I've enjoyed on past visits to the Big Easy. First up was a lovely little joint called Bridge Lounge, which is on Magazine Street in the Lower Garden District. Here, you can join the locals for mojitos and live music (I was put onto this place by a friend who was a grad of Tulane). A little closer to the French Quarter tourist zone but not in the thick of Bourbon Street madness, the outdoor patio at the historic Napoleon House was a chill place to enjoy a cocktail. Plenty of haunted choices (apparently) in this city of ghosts and voodoo; check out this list of ideas on (my favorite being Hotel Provincial, once a Confederate hospital in the Civil War -- yikes, scary! Are you sure about that idea???)
