You could do worse, in terms of Interstate-bound tourism, than I-80. This highway cuts across the middle section of the Keystone State from Stroudsburg in the east to Sharon, on the PA-Ohio line. At just over 300 miles, that's a lot of ground to cover; in fact, it's mostly hilly, sometimes mountainous ground, which will help up the sightseeing ante. Take a look at http://www.visitpa.com/pa-maps/index.aspx for some more specific itinerary ideas from Pennsylvania Tourism, but at a pinch I'd recommend the following stops, from east to west: Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (http://vacation.away.com/pennsylvania/travel-v2-cid358223-delaware+water+gap+national+recreation+area-cid350266-active+and+adventure-vacations.html), the Pocono Mountains, hiking and biking in Pine Creek Gorge (PA's self-styled "Grand Canyon"), State College and the Allegheny mountain region of central PA, and seeing the PA elk herd or driving the Groundhog Wine Trail, both near DuBois. And finally, if you can squeeze in a detour at the end, hook a right up I-79 to Presque Isle State Park on the shores of Lake Erie (about 75 miles north of I-80).
