Well, the biggest attraction in the region, open year-round, is Lake George itself and its miles of pristine Adirondacks shoreline. Pack a picnic and go for a hike on miles and miles of trails; grab a fishing rod and canoe and head out onto the lake to angle for trout and smallmouth bass; rent a bike and roll along wide-open greenways or through more technical forested singletrack. There are plenty of backup options if the rain does come, including arcades and laser tag, shopping, and museums (both historical and quirky). However, my best advice for getting the most out of Lake George is to actually get out onto and around the lake. For something more seasonal, you might also consider whitewater rafting on the Lower Hudson River -- though the water will be cold! The Hudson River Rafting Company (http://www.hudsonriverrafting.com/index.asp) runs daylong trips out of North Creek, about 25 miles from Lake George.
