We would like to spend a weekend. Can you give us some advice about the nicest hotels/inns/motels closest to the beach. Price range is not an issue. We will be driving in from Boston, how far away would it be?

Away.com has a great vacation rentals section on its website. It lists various rentals that are often cheaper than staying in a hotel and with more room.
