Rita, places that spring to mind immediately include the excellent whitewater rafting and outdoor activities at Fayetteville and the New River Gorge, WV; a stop at White Sulphur Springs and the historic Greenbrier Resort; Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway; Charlottesville and Monticello; and Colonial Williamsburg (also some nice wineries in this area).
