Hartford isn't on I-80 (the Mass Pike) and, despite being my hometown, all that scenic.

Most likely, taking I-70 to I-80 would be more scenic simply because you have many major cities to stop and sightsee including Indianapolis and Hartford on your way to Bar Harbor.
