We have heard about Sea Grapes, Royal Palms, and the Public Beach.

Need some guidance as to where on 7-Mile Beach to go for a day of beach vacation. We are 60 somethings and wish for chairs, umbrellas, and a beer or two.

7-Mile Beach is actually 5.5 miles long! Who knew! Great thing about this strip of beach is most of it is free. As you walk down the street you will see small signs indicating public access points to the beach.

Cemetery Beach which is at the northern end of 7-Mile beach is a great area to go if you want to be away from the crowds, but bring your own towels & beer...

Also if you want a beer & want to get out of the sun, there is The Cayman Islands Brewery which has free tours & tastings. The staff is really friendly and it can be a lot of fun.

As for places to get chairs/umbrella & a frosty beer, Royal Palms Beach Club has lounge chairs/umbrella rentals for $10 a person and their Reef Grill has decent (but can be pricey) seafood/American food & drinks. It's about an 8 min taxi ride/shuttle vans from the docks in Georgetown. The beach out from the club is gorgeous, plus the pool is semi-new and is really nice. Bar is less than 50 ft from beach.

I've never been to Sea Grape but read a review that said they have a bar & grill, restrooms, showers, lockers & chair/umbrella rentals.

A few of the hotels along 7-Mile beach offer day passes that include chairs/umbrellas & sometimes food/alcohol, but they will be more expensive. If you want to go this route, then check out: the Hyatt or Courtyard by Marriott/Marriott Beach Resort, or sometimes the Westin. I'd call to confirm rentals & price. If a lot of cruise ships are in port, these places can be packed! The Westin used to do day passes where you get a room from mid-morn to afternoon.

Other good restaurants along 7-Mile beach would be Sunshine Grill (fish tacos/burgers) at Sunshine Suites Resort, Cimboco (Caribbean Cafe), and Deckers Caribbean Grille.
Sea-Grape/Public Beach has Calico Jacks Bar & Grill that has a good beach bar view, but waiters can be hit or miss. Might find a little bit of a rowdy crowd sometimes if you stay late into the evening.
