We are planning to drive from Houston to Yellowstone in september. Can anybody suggest one or 2 good stops along the way, especially to break upthe journey for young kids? Thanks

Road trip! Yup, that's a long way with young kids. Looks like you have two options: head up through Oklahoma and Kansas before hanging a left on I-70 toward Denver and Boulder; or take a slightly longer route through El Paso and Albuquerque and Santa Fe before heading up through Colorado into Wyoming. If it's the former, maybe break the long drive from Houston to Boulder (my pick over Denver) with a stop in Norman, OK, which has a few things for the kids to enjoy like a zoo and adventure park. I think you could break things up a bit more with the longer drive along the Texas-Mexico border and then stop to check out Santa Fe (including Bishop's Lodge for a good family-friendly layover; http://vacation.away.com/hotels/travel-ld-cid4322-santa-fe-hotelid31950-bishops-lodge-resort-and-spa-hotel.html).
