We are planning a beach camping trip to the southeast this summer. We are considering the following State Parks; Huntington Beach, Edisto Beach, or Hunting Island. Looking for any great insight regarding beach campsites, overall park experience, and especially shower/bathroom facilities. ...or if you have any other beach camping destination in the southeast that you might recommend.
Looking forward to your responses.

Wow, sounds like you're on the right track! I've heard good things about Huntington. Of course, the Outer Banks -- and in particular Cape Hatteras and Ocracoke Island -- offers excellent camping. Further south, Little Talbot Island State Park in northeast Florida is worth a look. Lastly, check out Virginia's Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, which offers an awesome hike-in route to False Cape State Park and primitive, beachside camping at Barbour Hill (look out for loggerhead sea turtles, who nest on the beach between May and September!).
