The little town of Camden on the mid-coast is a great place for a visit if you like quaint shops, good food and great scenery. There's a little park right by the harbor in town. Bring a picnic of sandwiches from the deli and enjoy the view of the sailboats in the harbor. Afterwards you can head up to Camden Hills State Park for some fabulous hiking. Mount Battie, which offers a scenic view of Camden and the ocean and islands, can be reached by either foot from downtown or by foot or car from the main entrance to the park, and if you are up for a challenge the Ocean Overlook is quite a stair-stepper but very well worth it. The views are spectacular. Speaking of spectacular, Maiden Cliff Trail just up route 52 from Camden offers absolutely breath-taking views of the nearby lakes and surrounding area. Have fun!

Hope this email is not too late for your trip! Must see Acadia National Park along with Schoodic Point and the town of Bar Harbor. With the age of your children, be sure to take one of the tours to see the whales and puffins. They will love it. You can sign up for this in Bar Harbor. Acadia National Park has a beach and I am sure you could find a lobster bake in that area. If you want to do a bit of driving, Moosehead Lake is also very beautiful and a great little town to visit. There is a site seeing boat of the lake as well. Hope you have a fabulous trip.
