vegas on a budget

I'm going to Vegas with my wife, sister-in-law and her boyfriend, the latter two of which are on a pretty tight budget. I've got flight + hotels taken care of for ~400/person so I think we're doing OK so far, but I'm curious if there is any advice for which places we should hit up that can provide the fun of vegas without the high price tag of the typical strip bar. Thanks all!

Fremont Street is a must do. You can buy a 24 hour bus pass which will take you from the strip to the old Strip area. Very entertaining and much less expensive. In this area you can also find the Mob Museum, the new Neon Lights museum and the Pawn Shop among other things.

Sal, it's certainly possible to do Vegas on budget, so long as you keep your gambling expenses in check! In fact, the Vegas casinos do everything they can to lure people inside by offering free shows and exhibits (which will usually require you go in through the casino!). For example, MGM Grand has its lions, the Mirage its volcano, the Bellagio its spectacular dancing fountains, and Circus Circus its troupe of acrobats. Vegas is also well-known for lots of cheap eating and colossal buffets (though in some cases, you get what you pay for it -- just a lot of it!). And remember, there's no price on people-watching, of which Vegas has plenty. Hopefully, some of these ideas will allow you to enjoy your trip and come back with the shirt on your back!
