I have always taken my kids and now grandkids to the Jersey Shore. I saw some pretty hoes on the chesapeake, and once before tried something differenting renting a house in DE which claimed waterfront, but got burned bigtime... sand and river/water base was sludge/mud, bugs and mosquitos horrible, the water was a filty dirty brown ... horrible. Since I want my children to enjoy the water and beach, is water clean/clear? Is beach rocky/sandy? Is water cold in July/August, and are there activities that would help keep kids happy? is there a beach on the bay in virginia where my husband and I can bring our dog, thats not too crowded? We are looking for less crowds because even on dog freindly beaches some people are not too happy if you bring a dog.
