Thinking of renting a car for first visit to Belize. Advice?
Is it difficult trying to find your way around the country? Maps or garmin avaialbe. How are street and highway signs. Heard the road conditions and driving of others leave alot to be desired.

I rented a car once. It wasn't new but it ran. Potholes in roads but it ain't your car so no worries. No GPS , just a map and never got lost. Th eone warning is to stay away form the Guatemalen border...

I've not rented a car there, but most of the roads were in pretty good condition, and signage was pretty reliable as well. Likely better off with a car that offers decent clearance or a 4x4 if you can find one.
