My husband and I spent two weeks driving the coast of Oregon this summer and heard several references to "winter storm watching" in Oregon. We are intriqued and seriously considering taking a week to go back during the winter. We are wondering what is the "best" time to do winter storm watching in Oregon and where? Thanks.

Melody, I'm assuming the storms in question are the ones that brew up over the Pacific and then dump prodigious amounts of winter rain and snow as these weather heads are forced up over the mountains along the coast. Add to that blustery coastal winds, and you've got some ideal conditions. Some towns to check out might include Bandon, Brookings, and Depoe Bay.
