My family is planning a trip to Yellowstone Memorial weekend (end of May). We are super frugal and plan on camping but not sure how to go about it. Looking for a cheap cabin if someone could tell me a location to google. Also, what are the must sees. We'll get there Saturday morning and have to leave Monday afternoon and may have dogs. I definitely need some direction. Coming up from Kansas so South or East entrance to start.

Lodging within the park is offered through Xanterra Parks & Resorts, including some rustic cabins at Lake Yellowstone. Lake Lodge cabins rates start $68/night and go up to $166/night for bigger, better-equipped cabins. Xanterra also runs campgrounds at Bridge Bay and Grant Village, both of which are also located on Lake Yellowstone. Loads of stuff to do here for kids, including a nice summit hike on the Elephant Back Loop Trail. Read about this and nine other great family hikes in Yellowstone at: http://bit.ly/avSTZM

Given Yellowstone's profusion of wildlife, the park has strict regulations regarding pets. You can run your dogs in parking areas and within 100 feet of major roads and visitor facilities, but no pets on the trails or in the backcountry. More info at: http://bit.ly/bBKzGD
